Description: The Club Med experience isn''t for everyone. I personally loved it. Since this was a trip to get away from it all, I loved that all my meals were paid for, and every activity I wanted to do was already taken care of.
My room was sparkling clean and quite comfortable - a huge king sized bed and a nice tiled floor with a small balcony overlooking the ocean. The bathroom had a great shower and nice sink/vanity area. The room also featured a nice sized closet and mini-fridge, but no television.
The resort itself was beautiful with a great swimming pool and direct beach access. Its grounds were vast and well gardened. The architecture blended in with the environment, with several two and three-story buildings spread across the property.
Perhaps the greatest advantage to the Club Med experience is the variety of activities hosted onsite. From three-par golf, to snorkel lessons and archery, any outdoors pursuit is easily accessed.
My personal favorite was the on-site spa offering package and a la carte options at excellent prices for the U.S. or British tourist. My two hour facial and sea salt scrub treatment only cost around $35 US.
At prices averaging $45/night including all meals, Club Med Phuket offers the budget tourist the rare opportunity to live like royalty.
