Escape Boutique B&B

Website: http://www.escapebandb.co.uk
Price range: £75-£90 per room, including breakfast

Having had a good trawl around the Internet looking for B&B accommodation, I was first of all taken by the swanky website. Compared with the other accommodation in Llandudno, this looked like a fun and groovy place to stay.

When we arrived there on Saturday morning, we were not disappointed. The B&B is a beautifully restored Victorian villa retaining many original features, such as stunning stained glass and carved fire surrounds, but thoroughly modernised into what is now the Esape Boutique B&B.

On arrival we were greeted by Sam, who runs the Escape with his wife Gaenor. Check-in involved having a cafetiere of coffee and a natter in the guest lounge, which comes complete with open fire, flat-screen TV, and PlayStation!

Each room in the Escape has a different theme. Our room, Room One (contemporary elegant), with its queen-size bed and whirlpool bath, was immaculately presented and had wonderful views across Llandudno to the east to the Snowdonia National Park in the southwest. The bed was super-comfy and the faux fur throw a delight to curl up on. Tea- and coffee-making facilities, a hair dryer, lovely toiletries, and soft, clean towels were all provided, along with a flat-screen TV and DVD player. Other rooms come with different features, such as a PlayStation.

Breakfast was served between 8:30am and 9:30am. We were served at the table and could choose from three courses that included tea/coffee, juice, muesli, porridge (with maple syrup--yum!), toast, a full breakfast, scrambled egg with smoked salmon, and also a veggie option. If you wanted anything in particular, though we didn't, I'm sure you could ask and Sam and Gaenor would do their best to sort it out for you.

So, would I recommend it? Absolutely. We can't wait to go back. The service was superb, as was the quality of the accommodation. The location is stunning. Yes, it is expensive at upwards of £70 per room, but for two of you that's not bad: it's unlike other accommodation in the area and is a real treat.
