The sign out front claiming to have the "cleanest rooms in Taos" was a far cry from the stained bath tub and dingy hotel room we walked in on. We asked for a refund and the desk clerk insured us that their "deluxe" rooms we're much better and she'd upgrade us to one for no extra charge. The "deluxe" room was the same deal, but with a ceiling fan and a border around the walls...horrible. On the phone when making the reservation, we were told the complementary breakfast included fruit, juice, and a pastry of sorts...upon arrival, the clerk informed us she'd make a pot of coffee at 7am, and that my friends was breakfast...disgust!
When we asked for a refund the clerk informed us that she was not authorized to do that and she would have the owner do that in the morning. We called the credit card company and they said they would dispute the charges. When we arrived at the visitor center to reserve another room, they laughed in our faces for believing the Hacienda's sale pitch, which I guess most tourists fall for. They redirected us to the Best Western, and for $30 more our horror film was brought to a happy ending.
