Kyoto Garden Hotel was very well located, about 1/2 block of the main subway line, only three stops from the main train station. We paid 10,900 yen for a double room (twin beds) and stayed 3 nights. The room was small by American standards, but extremely clean. Bathroom was tiny, but very well-appointed.
The front desk staff was very helpful and spoke some English. There is no in-house restaurant, but many nearby including a Starbucks around the corner about a block away. The hotel is 11 floors and fairly modern. There are a few parking places available. The room did have a small fridge. TV only featured a few Japanese stations. I can highly recommend this hotel.
