I was very impressed by this hotel. We booked a room for a weekend getaway mainly to watch the Giants vs. Cardinals games Friday and Saturday at AT&T park. Check in was quick and without knowing what room we would be in ended up being on the 27th floor with a bay view. Parking across the street is only $20 a night. There are mulitple cafe's a few blocks away and we came back to the resturant restuarant/bar area for desert which was excellent. Pretty much in chinatown and only a 1 mile away from the park.

We stayed at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District for two nights on a Priceliine stay for about $100 a night -- the hotel, however, is normally in the $300 a night range. We were given a room with two twin beds on the twelfth floor of the hotel.
With regards to the location, the hotel is quite literally located at the intersection of Chinatown and the Financial District. If you're traveling to SF on leisure, the Financial District really won't mean much to you, but Chinatown is pretty cool, and the hotel faces directly on to it. There is even a "Chinese Cultural Center" that is attached to the hotel. The hotel may want to identify itself more with the financial district, but when you walk outside, you'll feel Chinatown.
Our room looked brand new -- a very modern feel and brand new furniture. Even the bathroom door was modern -- not so much a door as a sliding cover. For the business traveler, the room had extensive desk space and a nice view outside. Most impressively, the hotel has free high speed wired or wireless internet (which depends on which floor you are on). The in-room safe was laptop size, which was also nice. Vending machines on every floor ($2 a can of pop, though!). The two twin beds were quite comfortable, and the room was generously endowed with pillows.
For a four star hotel, though, it seemed the hotel was a bit lacking in its on-site amenities. For example, there is no pool, and limited on-site dining options. The spa is also somewhat disappointing. But if all you are looking for is a nice place to sleep, you'll likely be quite happy.
Lots of dining options around the hotel, though, especially restaurants in Chinatown. There is also a nearby Subway, as well as some options as you head towards the Financial District.
As far as public transportation, its about four or five blocks from the nearest BART station, meaning it will be a bit of a walk if you try to do it yourself from the airport.
The hotel's webpage can be found at http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/SFOFDHF-Hilton-San-Francisco-Financial-District-California/index.do.
Anyway, we had a very pleasant experience at the hotel, and would highly recommend it. The proximity to Chinatown is amazing!

The accommodations were absolutely wonderful. The room was clean, and had a breathtaking view of telegraph hill and Coit Tower, along with St. Mary's Cathedral and the bay on either side of Coit Tower. The breakfast was wondeful at the hotel restaurant, and the hotel bar in the evening served great drinks as well. I loved the coffee with Bailey's, not hard to make, but the right mix is essential!
Also, the lobby has aquariums filled with eccentric fish and lots of seahorses. It also has a huge map of the city to help guide you on your daily excursions and orient you and your party.
This hotel is located within walking distance from tons of essential San Fran must-sees. I loved it.

I slept in the most comfortable bed that I have ever experienced. I wish I could have taken it home with me.
Location is great. It was nice to be on the edge of China town and not have to look for parking.
I liked the string quintet that played in the lobby. They were excellent, and it relaxed me.

This hotel is great!!!. Everything is good at Hilton. They will provide you with an excellent customer service and stuff. Our room was nice and clean. We picked a bay view room with king size bed. We have really enjoyed our trip to SF and the quality of the Hilton hotel. GOOD LOCATION!!!
