Grand Case Beach Club

We stayed at the Grand Case Beach Resort in Grand Case for our honeymoon. Grand Case is a small village full of restaurants. That's about all you'll find in Grand Case! But they are fantastic restaurants, and we love to eat, so that is why we chose this location. The resort was lovely. Private entry "condo"-type rooms with a kitchenette and a balcony overlooking the ocean (garden view also available). The only problem with our room was the bathroom - tiny and STINKY! Must have been the water. And the shower was really small. Otherwise the whole experience was wonderful. We loved the private beach but also the public beach right next to it. The restaurant on site was a perfect place for breakfast each morning and an occasional lunch. The service was perfect--not too intrusive but helpful. Great place!

We booked this hotel as a package in Dallas. At the time, the anti-French feelings were going on, so we got it much cheaper than the advertised price. We booked out flight and hotel in Dallas.

It wasn't an all-inclusive, but you might be able to book it as that. We just got the breakfast, which suits us better. We had just heard how great all the restaurants were in Grand Case, and so we wanted the chance to experience them ourselves.

The Grand Case Beach Club was great. The staff was very outgoing and friendly; in fact, many an evening they would just hand us bottles of homemade rum if we were hanging out at the bar and never charge us. They were quite proud of the local liquor!! Our room was on the lower floor, with a lantern-lit patio and sliding door into the gardens, TV, telephone, fridge, safe, oven, big bathroom, huge bedroom, and pretty Caribbean decor. There was a pool and lit tennis courts. The property was gated, but you didn't feel like it needed to be, as everywhere felt very safe.

The bar/breakfast room was open air and on the rocks between two very pretty beaches, and we enjoyed this every morning, along with the four local kittens for company. There were hammocks in the gardens under the shade of the trees that made for a very relaxing afternoon. Some trips were organized by the hotel, but we only did one to Prickly Pear, and for the rest of our adventures, we went into Marigot by bus and took the ferries or buses to save money.

What a beautiful place. There are two beaches to choose from. The pool is small but not very crowded. Water sports are available right on the property. There are locked gates that provide security(although we never worried). This place was very quiet when we were there (July). The room rate was around $125, and it included a bottle of wine at check-in. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It is a short walk into town to some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean. You don't have to worry about parking. There are also lighted tennis courts if that's your thing. You may use the computer in the lobby for Internet service. I have some terrific photos, but they are larger than 200K, and I can't put them on this site. They are 1.4 GB. I can send them via email if you would like.

We couldn't get a timeshare, so we opted for the GC Beach Club. We didn't miss... All the amenities of a timeshare, we had a great suite (one-bedroom loft, full kitchen with microwave, one bath, living/dining area, balcony overlooking the beach), water sports, snorkeling, scuba diving operator, great housekeeping staff, friendly cat who visits everyone, plenty of parking, laundry security, great ambient lighting at night, plenty of room without crowding your neighbor, and not a huge resort (about 100 rooms). Terrific friendly and helpful French staff. Walking distance to fine dining and eateries. Highly recommended.
