El Dorado Seaside Resort

This was such a surprising place for us. We wanted to go somewhere on the Yucatan close to the Tulum Ruins and we found this place. The drive into the resort took me off guard because I was not seeing the beauty I imagined. But when we did get to front of the resort my breath was taken away. There were so many Hibiscus, papaya trees, palm trees, just so much natural beauty. The pictures do not do this place justice. We were welcomed with champagne, and we had to book our dinner for evening in one of the three restaurants there. So we picked the international first, just to be on the safe side. Then we were driven to our suite in a golf cart.

Our suite, as do many of them, faced the ocean. (See the pic of my feet.) I woke up each morning facing the gulf. Our suite had a king size canopy bed, a Jacuzzi and a separate shower for two. The decor at this resort is old Mexico, very warm and inviting. They have the coolest outside bar with swings, the canopy beds outside were very nice especially if you need to get out of the sun. We wanted to do so much here but there wasn't enough time in 4 days. We rented a car and drove into Playa Del Carma day one, went snorkeling at Xelhai day two, on day three went to the Tulum ruins (gorgeous!), and on day four stayed at the resort.

I loved the resort because everything you needed was right there. Each night there was entertainment. Either a band playing or a comedy show. We were entertained by some of the guests. There are three restaurants: international, Thai, and Mexican, of course. They were adding another one when we left. There were two pools and the spa was great. We both received 1 hour massages which was so relaxing. I was useless after that. There were several different activities to do at the resort also like painting, learning to dance like Latinos, walking or bicycling tours, snorkeling, kayaking.) I want to go back soon but this time I intend on staying more days.

This was a great time for us and it was very affordable. The price range is about $1200 and up per couple, including airfare, for about 5 days. I feel that we got a luxury trip for a moderate price. The staff was so nice and informative also. They were very helpful we we needed it. Also this resort is not a large one so the people you meet and see every day turn into life long friends. Last but not least. This is an all inclusive adult (over 18) resort. It is very relaxing and well worth taking off a few days to see.
