The English Inn

I have stayed at two hotels in Charlottesville—the Omni and the English Inn. The English Inn has been my favorite of the two. When I arrived at the English Inn, I was greeted with freshly baked homemade cookies which was an early sign of the hospitality I felt while staying there.

The English Inn is located right next to Bodo's Bagels (a great place for breakfast or lunch) and is within about a 15-20 minute walk of both the University of Virginia and a new upscale shopping center.

My room was quiet, comfortable, and very clean. In the morning, the English Inn provides a hot continental breakfast. This isn't just donuts and coffee, but includes eggs, hash browns, grits, bacon, pastries, and other good breakfast fare. Another real perk to staying at the English Inn is the complimentary gym pass to the ACAC Fitness and Wellness Center, which is just down the road.

While you pay a little more to stay here than the chain hotels, its perks are definitely worthwhile.
