I highly recommend the Sandals Regency in St. Lucia for couples who plan to have a Weddingmoon. I recently got married there and was treated as a "princess" throughtout my stay. The hotel and wedding staff were friendly, warm, caring, and supportive. The spa staff also "pampered" me during my bridal spa treatment. It was the fairytale wedding that I always dreamed of...in a beautiful island by the ocean with my true love.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon, and would recommend it to everyone. the staff were great, the beach was amazing, and the food was spectacular. If you can think of an activity they will have it, definitely try as many as possible. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Our Sandals honeymoon was fantastic - what a relaxing week! We stayed at the Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia and really enjoyed everything they had to offer. We received an upgrade upon arrival to the Oceanview room, which was beautiful. We were especially impressed with the bathroom, which was very spa-like with tile, granite, and an upgraded shower head. It was certainly not like your typical hotel bathroom. We had a comfortable bed and sitting area as well, and our room looked out over the reception building out into the sea. It was gorgeous.
There were a lot of great restaurants on the resort and we found our favorites quickly (Arizona's is awesome - their jerk chicken was fantastic!). We also liked Armando's at the top of the bluff, but I heard others saying it wasn't their favorite. We never made it to the Pitons restaurant in the middle of the resort, but I heard it was good. We also heard La Toc (reservations required) was good as well. We went to Kimono's (reservations required), the Japanese tappanyaki restaurant, but we were not too impressed. It was uncomfortably warm in there and the chef didn't even step foot in our dining room for about an hour. Luckily, we were able to have a good conversation with the others at our table to pass the time.
We also made it to the other two resorts on St. Lucia (Grande and Halcyon) for dinner two nights we were there. We went to the Pier restaurant at the Halcyon, which was great (they have a wonderful dessert bar for us sweet tooths). One note: after seeing how the dress code was interpreted at the Regency, we decided to be a little more lax when we went to the Grande for dinner, trying to go to the Italian restaurant. They turned us away because my husband was wearing khaki shorts instead of long pants. While technically this was the dress code at certain restaurants at the Regency, we never got turned away there and often saw people in very casual attire (i.e., t-shirts, sundresses). The dress code seems to be more strictly enforced at the Sandals Grande, FYI.
Drinks were good - you can ask for the top shelf liquor and they will use it in your drinks. I heard some people saying that they weren't satisfied with the strength of the drinks, but I thought they were pretty good. Try the dirty banana drink - it's really good! Truthfully, I didn't worry too much about what other people said. It's your vacation; you make the most of it and you choose how to react to certain situations. Those who consistently have bad experiences are either expecting too much or are just pessimists. We had a great time.
As for activities, they have a board that details the nightly activities for the week once you get down there. They also have a daily activities board that has all of the activities for that day listed. They usually have pool volleyball, water aerobics, and other fun stuff to do during the day. The nightly entertainment was okay - not fantastic, but entertaining enough to keep us there for 30 minutes or so. We did hear that the Regency entertainment was generally more lively than the other two resorts. We never made it to the Cricketer's Pub, but heard some good late-night stories from there.
Aside from the scheduled activities, you can book your own at the watersports kiosk on the beach. They have wind surfing, sea kayaking, water tricycles, and hobie cats at the Regency. You can also book snorkeling trips there (they have two trips per day). The snorkeling bus will pick your group up and take you to the Castries harbor (about a 10 min. drive), where the boats are docked. Then you ride out to the snorkeling reserve area (about a 20-25 min. ride) down the coast. On the day we went there were a lot of jellyfish, so be wary - maybe bring a wetsuit or at least a long-sleeved shirt. You can also go to the other resorts for the day. The Grande has water skiing included and jet skis you can rent ($45/hr). Also, their beach is much calmer than the Regency.
We took a day trip with Joe Knows (joeknowsstlucia.com), who can be found on the beach if you want to book a trip. Be sure to bargain - we cut $10 off of the total but heard of others who got much better deals than that. Bring cash to pay him. We enjoyed the trip and got to see the Pitons and a volcano, but it was a lot of driving and not a lot of relaxing at these places. We were glad we saw the island but I don't know if it was totally worth it.
Some other various notes are listed below:
* Once you get to St. Lucia the customs line is approx. 30 minutes long.
* Refuse bag service at the airport; they will try to help you, but no need - the Sandals check-in desk is literally 5 ft away.
* Bring all of your necessity stuff (aloe, toothpaste, sunblock, etc.) as it is overpriced at their resort store.
* Get chairs at the pool early (especially those that are situated under umbrellas).
* Make reservations at the necessary restaurants the day you get to the resort - the reservations fill up quickly (Kimonos and La Toc).
* Have breakfast a-la-carte at Armando's.
* They have both EU and US plugs in the rooms.
* Arizona's is great for lunch (Jerk chicken is good).
* Bring swimsuits and other necessities in your carry-on so you can explore the resort when you get there and aren't stuck waiting for your luggage.
* Get a calling card to call home if you want to.
* No need to exchange your money - they accept US dollars in most places.
* Shuttles run frequently between the resorts. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the Halcyon from the Regency and about 30-35 minutes to get to the Grande from the Regency.
