Orchard Hotel

We arrived from England around 8am and our room was not ready, so we waited in the lounge whilst it was prepared.

At about 11am we were given a key and ascended in the lift to the fourth floor, and on entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised with what we saw.

We had a king-size bed, TV, table and chairs, mini fridge, tea/coffeemaking facilities, good-size wardrobe with a bathrobe inside, and a bathroom that consisted of bath with a shower, toilet, and very modern sink, which was a bowl set on top of a table. The bathroom was on view from the bedroom through a large round window, which we thought odd, until we realised there was a roller blind for privacy. The one complaint was that the bed was very hard.

On our return journey we had a very similar room on the sixth floor, but it had a smaller bed.

The hotel has gym facilities, a swimming pool with changing rooms shared with the gym, and plenty of sunbeds, tables, chairs, and shades around. There is also a pool bar serving drinks, meals, and ice cream.

As we were there at the beginning of December, the lobby was decorated with a Christmas tree and lights. The reception and cleaning staff are all very friendly and helpful.

It is very well situated at the end of Orchard Road, which is one of the main shopping areas. The area has malls with designer shops as well as the usual cheaper cafes, coffee bars, and restaurants.

We paid £42 per room per night when we booked in England, but when we asked to keep the room until our departure time, we were charged £50, and a small bottle of water from the mini fridge worked out to approximately £2.
