The good: What a great place to start our trip! We saw all the rooms and they were all very nice. There is friendly staff and full-size bottles of shampoo and conditioner, so don't bring any with you if you plan to stay here. There is a huge cook-to-order breakfast and the best lending library in the South Island.
Great location: It's one street over from the arts center and across the street from the art museum, and the Canterbury museum is at the end of the street. Free wine or sherry at night creates a nice social hour. They even started breakfast 30 minutes early, so we could eat before our tour.
The bad: I can't really think of any.
