Clay Hotel International Hostel

Clay Hotel International Hostel

This was perhaps not my best stay in a hostel yet. However, you cannot beat the location of this Miami Beach hostel. If you're driving, street parking is available, but is hard to come by, and you have to move your car during business hours anyway. Because this hostel is SO centrally located, this also means that if one comes in a car, a labyrinth of one-way streets and construction must be navigated through in order to get to there. However, ample parking garages are available at a relatively reasonable price. What cannot be beat is the mere blocks standing between you and beach. As Will Smith so avidly put it, the "water's so clear you can see to the bottom" and the unbelievable blue color and bath water-like temperature makes you never want to leave. However, despite the unbeatable location, and actually quite comfortable rooms (private bath, two bunks, dresser, refrigerator), if one is not planning on eating out and wants to cook, they are out of luck unless they brought a whole kitchen ready to go, like fortunately, I did. Luckily, I was spending most of my trip camping, and came prepared with a full stock of pots, utensils, and basic seasonings, most of which I lent out to the foreign school group whom I was sharing the dark kitchen with. To add to the ambiance, in hot July, the dark kitchen reeked of cat-urine, to make matters better.
