The receptionist greeted us by our name as they had picked us up via their courtesy bus from the airport(this normally costs between 10,000 to 15,000 shillings). Two days before heading out to Dar Es Salaam I received an email from the hotel confirming the booking and to request our flight details. The hotel is located in the Asian district and is a building that stands out from the rest around it as its encased in blue glass. All of the staff were really attentive when we arrived and were more than willing to help with the heavy bags we had, and all said hello every time we saw them. When we arrived we were checked in and some advice is to pay in dollars or shillings as the rate stated which was from $88 / 88000 shillings which is £44, if you pay by visa the rate is bad and does vary. When we got to our room we were on the 3rd floor and we were glad we had chosen the hotel. The room is nicely laid out with three beds, the view out of the window was not great as it looked straight onto a brick wall but your not there to stay in your hotel!! The room as is the hotel fully air-conditioned and can be controlled in the room and you come to appreciate it when your come back from walking around Dar, so no need for that mozzy net. There is a TV with about 15 channels mostly in English. There was electricity and hot water available 24 hours a day even with the daily rolling power cuts throughout the city.Breakfast(which is included in the price)is help your self and served in two of the restaurants and ranges from continental and a hot option which includes an omelette, beans etc. Tea (Chai Bora is the local tea that you get used to), coffee and fruit juice is available. There is security in the lobby at all times and if you need to access the Internet or fax you can do this all in the lobby at any time during the day for a price. Tip is to find an Internet cafe in the other areas of the city. All in all a good hotel for the price.
