Hotel Strathmore is an old style two story Australian hotel on Adelaide's busy, modern (and mostly high rise!) Terrace Avenue. Rooms were spacious, with all the modern conveniences—air-conditioning, TV, phone, and refrigerator. All rooms are also en-suite. The decor was pleasant, although fairly generic. A basic breakfast is also included in the room rate—the hotel stocks the room with cereal, milk, bread (there's a toaster), jam, butter, and instant tea and coffee every day so you can have a private meal in your room every morning! As the hotel is very close to the neighboring buildings, the windows are translucent, they let in some light, but there is no view. The Strathmore's location, however, is excellent, with the casino complex and convention center just across the street, and attractions like the Botanic Gardens, the Torrens River, and the South Australian Museum within easy walking distance.
