I have never been to Boston before. When I typed in Boston area, I wasn't planning on having to drive 30-45 minutes to get into town. Not very practical for site seeing. Plus, you can't go and enjoy the Irish Pubs, because you have a long drive back to the hotel. To start the vacation off, I had two flights cancelled due to a storm over DFW. I had to drive 2 hours to a different airport and catch a flight with a different airline. Instead of getting to Boston at 3 pm, I got there at 11 pm. NOTHING is open in Wakefield that late; accept two gas stations. When we got to the hotel, they checked me into the wrong room. After getting that straight, I drove to the gas station to get something to eat (since nothing is open, not even a McDonald's!). I bought a microwavable meal and went back to the hotel. Every hotel has a microwave available for the guests to use. Not the Sheraton in Wakefield. I had to rent one for $10.00!!! Really!?!?! The next day, the maid service shorted me on towels. Plus the ice machine on my end of the hotel was broken. After two nights, I checked out early and forfeited the money I had paid for the next two nights. (Non-refundable). I got a room at the Radisson, and stayed there the remainder of my vacation. After the hotel move, everything was great! If you are going to Boston, pay the extra $-$ and get a hotel in the downtown area. Everything is within walking distance, or you can ride the subway. I hope this helps. Enjoy your trip.

We stayed at this hotel from June 8-11 of this year. Upon arrival there was only one front desk agent and did not even acknowledge us until I said " this is taking too long". The hotel is in great condition w/ lovely decors and beautiful garden and well manicured lawn. Again my only complaint are the staff, even when we passed them by they didn't even say hi or anything.

Loved this hotel, beautiful & location

The location was so perfect north of the city, and the highway is right there to go up to Gloster or south to Boston. This Sheraton is beautiful, the lobby had two fireplaces high cielings, flowers, great place to meet people, just beautiful, the landscaping, flowers everywhere. Sept 08 some construction going with the bridge over the creek. We asked for 8th floor so not to here the noise and it was fun watching the progress every morning. The staff at front desk said oh sure no problem (we were to be on the 2nd floor) newpaper every morning. Quiet Hotel, only one night there were kids next door but they went to bed at 9. then quite. Can't wait to stay there again. We were there for 6 nights. We did not eat there so not sure about the food. Some pealing wallpaper not sure why, but we didin't care

The hotel is about a 20 minute ride from Boston's North Station ($18 return). The hotel has a free shuttle to the Wakefield commuter rail station. After waiting 20 minutes to take a cab from the Wakefield station at 12:30 a.m. we decided to drive into Boston for the 2nd day in town. The hotel was very clean and has underdone a recent renovation. The front desk staff was very helpful in suggesting ways to get into town and giving us directions for restaurants etc. The immediate vicinity of the hotel is pretty quiet with only a Dunkin' Donuts and a gas station convenience store for food options besides the hotel restaurant. We booked directly with the Sheraton website and found a rate that was $30 cheaper than any other site. A great place to stay if you don't mind a 20 minute ride into Boston.

The hotel is about a 20 minute ride from Boston's North Station ($18 return). The hotel has a free shuttle to the Wakefield commuter rail station. If you are taking a late night train back to the Colonial expect to pay about $12 to take a taxi back to the hotel since the hotel shuttle doesn't run late night. After waiting 20 minutes to take a cab from the Wakefield station at 12:30 a.m. we decided to drive into Boston for the 2nd day in town. We parked the car for the entire day in Cambridge at the Cambridgeside Galleria for $20 and took the Green Line T to Fenway. The hotel was very clean and has underdone a recent renovation.
