The Hotel started out on abad note we were told that we had to be checked in by 3:00pm we got there there were no rooms the front desk cleark had the worst attitude she was nasty and spoke to me in amatter of fact attitude that she did not have to have our room ready until 3:00pm I told her that I was traveling with two small kids who were tired and need to laydown she then told me that her hotel staff did not start cleaning until 10:00am and she would get the room ready when ever. I then told her that this was not acceptable and that if she could not get our room ready and give me a time it would be ready then I would have to go some where else. She then placed us down a hall that the pipes or something had broke the carpets were sour and the hall was very hot.
Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

To say that this hotel is bad, is putting it very mildly. The halls, stairways and elevator were dirty and stunk. The wall paper was peeling everywhere. One hall smelled so bad it made us sick. The hot tub was too scummy for words. The out door pool and patio were locked. When we lost power due to a storm, the emergency power only lasted a very short time and we were locked out of our room. The hotel made no effort to help out with flash lights, food or anything to drink. When they did help us back to our room, we couldn't leave again or we would have been locked out again. There were burn marks on the sink of our non-smoking room and burn marks above the smoke detector. The beds were hard as plywood, the carpet filthy. There was hornets nest out side of the window that could only be opened 2 inches, not enough to cool the room when the power was out. We were not offered anything off from the cost of the room but only could check out. If you go through travel website, then only they could approve it which takes lots of time and their call center is not even in the US. They ran out of food on their free continental breakfast and their $8.99 hot buffet only had 4 hot items on it. The tables were very sticky. Planes can be heard from the rooms clearly. This hotel is not even good enough for one FREE night. Be afraid, be very very afraid. We will NEVER stay here again and warn everyone who will listen and even those who will not.
Not what I expected

I read all the reviews here and thought that this would be a great choice... didn't turn out to be that way. We ended up having the worst stay we've had at a hotel and I usually don't complain. The location was great on the way to Detroit for the baseball game. When we got back from the game our A/C was out. Maintenance did come in to fix it, but never worked. We called for a fan at 1AM because it was very muggy and hot (storms outside, so we couldn't open the windows) and they didn't have any. They offered to switch rooms, which we did, but that A/C wasn't working any better than blowing air. The satellite TV went out (not their fault, it was the storms). The "free" continental breakfast was a few bruised pieces of fruit, some cereal, a loaf of bread, and a line a mile long for the waffles. You could upgrade to their hot buffet breakfast for $10, but at that point we were done.

This hotel offered a non smoking room. However the place reeked of cigarette smoke and the smell was circulating or drawn in through the air vents.
It was just awful!
