We wanted a decent hotel on the beach and that is what we got. The beds were nice and the room was clean. The word "resort" is a bit misleading, but it is a good hotel. In the day of continential breakfasts and coffee in the lobby, this htel is lacking those services. Little things make a big difference!

My company paid for me to stay here while on a job for 3 weeks. Overall it was Okay, but if I had my choice, there are much better options in the immediate area. The standard rooms are just that...nothing special but they do have a small fridge and a microwave. Beware of rooms in the main (Lobby) building on the first or second floors as they open to the smaller pool (and can be very noisy). The rooms in the Dolphin tower are suites or semi-suites that have a small kitchenette complete with microwave, full size fridge, and 4 burner stove. The bathrooms are a bit small, and the beds are old. There is a small couch in the room, and a small table with very flimsy chairs, but no desk or easy chair. There is a very small outdoorsnack bar/bar that services the main pool if you like $7 drinks in an 8 oz plastic cup. The main pool is always filled with kids as there is a slide that appears to be made of rocks in it and they usually show family movies on a big screen poolside at night. The food at the snack bar is nothing to rave about, but its filling. Easy access to the beach via the wooden walkway over the dunes. The hotel is pretty far down the island...making walking to local restaraunts & hangouts not a good idea unless you want to arrive a drenched ball of sweat. If I was paying for the stay, I'd be closer to the highway...same room experience, same beach experience, easier access to dinner/nightlife, and cheaper....you pay as much for a room at the Sunspree as you would for a fully furnished vacation condo.

not worth the money for the stay. have stayed at better quality places for less money. the staff was unfriendly. The staff could not find my reservation even after i showed them my confirmation. overall poor experience. rooms were of very poor quality. the only good thing about the place was the beach you had to cross a 7 ft dune to get to.
Another Great Stay

This is the second time my family has stayed at this hotel. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly and the grounds well maintained. The price is a little bit high but after our wonderful first stay we opted to pay the higher price for some place we knew would be good and we were not disappointed. The kids loved the rock slide and dive in movies. The view from our balcony was AMAZING!!! We are already planning our next vacation and will stay here again.
A Place to be proud of!

I stayed at the holiday inn Sunspree for a vacation with me and my family, and the service that we recieved was second to none, from the front desk to the general manager taking time out of his day to show me around, to the great housekeeping staff. I will be coming back and I'm very happy with everything.
