Would not recommend this hotel for the money.

I stay in Davenport at least once a year and decided to try the Clarion based on a number of positive reviews from X. I have to say I'm very disappointed. Outside of a very nice check-in area, this revamped Holiday Inn needs a lot of work. My room had one large window facing a play and pool area that always seemed to have children sceaming during the day and into the night. The room itself was somewhat dirty and very outdated, with what appeared to be a 15 year old tv, roller desk chair that didn't roll, and wireless internet that ironically required two extra wires attached to my laptop in order to boost their signal enough for me to have internet access. The staff was friendly and relatively helpful, but that did not make up for the other glaring issues of this stay. I had stayed at the in town for the last 5 years and I have to say that outside of the extra mile drive to get there, the X was a better choice for the money by far.

We were on a family trip for a funeral. The hotel was amazing; the staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Everything was very clean and well-kept; the pool was very nice. The food was very good. They didn't have a free continental breakfast, but they did serve a hot breakfast at a very reasonable price; the food was more than worth the money (about $5 per adult and $3 per child 12 and under). We would definitely stay again; in fact, we have plans to return to Davenport in the future to visit family and we will be staying at the Clarion.
Unless you're with a party- pick something else

I should have figured it out when the front desk gave me a puzzled look and asked me if we belonged to or were with The Party. The room (319) was stuffy (air) and did not have any way to open windows for fresh air. The window opened into a unsecured hallway. There was a party of some sort in the middle of the complex with music. The music started at 10:00pm and ended at 12:00am. Meanwhile the bachelors were having their own personal party in the room closest to our beds; we almost left because of this.
This was the second stay in a Choice franchised hotel in the Moline, IL / Davenport, IA area. I can't say I would recommend either for a comfortable stay compared to Hampton Inn which was comparable in price.

This hotel is a old Holiday Inn begin re-done. It will be nice when finished. They were redoing carpet in halls and pool, area. Back entrance to rooms was a mess due to the carpet. Our room was clean , but only window we had faced back of another bldg. so no light.
