Nice Place, but room use some TLC.

The MCM Elegante Hotel in Odessa Texas bills itself as a 4 star hotel. I will give them 3 stars for the lobby and public areas (especially the gorgeous courtyard with lighted palm trees and pool).
The beds are absolutely AMAZING for a hotel. The bedding is plush and the mattresses are thick and comfortable. The pillows are thick and very nice. The furniture reminds me of plantation style. Nice big pieces which are in fairly good repair. My 2nd floor room had a balcony which overlooked the pool with a nice wrought iron table and 2 chairs.
Overall I really enjoyed my room, however it could use a LOT of TLC. The first thing I noticed when I turned on a lamp was that the shade was so old it was yellowing and the plastic on the inside was cracking and falling out. The plastic in the shade was also kind of dirty. There was a picture which had fallen off the wall and was removed. The hardware was still there marking where it should be. The brass torchiere lamp in the corner was leaning at an 8-10 degree angle. It was loose from base and the base was covered in dried liquid, rusty and leaking sand.
The bathroom was full of faults.
-No stopper in the sink
-Rusty hardware on the sides of toilet and fill valve
-Fan switch faulty (Fan sometimes comes on only if you wiggle the switch)
-Coffee Pot hot plate caked with burnt coffee+white plastic stained+VERY dirty around on/off switch
-Tub spigot loose from wall and tiles appear to be caving into wall
Again, I really enjoyed my room and would return. I would consider this an upscale 2.5 star hotel though with all the maintenance issues in my room.

Stayed for the Christmas Holidays while visiting family. The stay was perfect. Room was great as always, bed very comfortable and staff were awesome. Arrived to find we had forgitten to reserve a handicapped room and staff changed us immediately. Bought jewelry in the lobby jewelry store and friends back home have already called thee and ordered more over the phone. We always stay at the Elegante when we visit Odessa and have never been disappointed and I am a hard person to please.

we spent our anniversary in this wonderful hotel. The first thing we noticed was how friendly the staff was made us feel so welcome. Then we got to the room and felt how nice the bed was wow. The room was spotless and nicely decorated. The breakfast buffet was less than expected but after how nice everything else was who cares. There is tons to do right by the hotel and we ate at red lobster. We will be staying at this hotel now several times a year just for a break from our busy life.
