Great airport hotel especially for early flights

The staff at this hotel were the friendliest I've ever found, from the shuttle car drivers to the front desk people to the woman setting up the breakfast (which is open early, at 4:30am!). Everything was fine although they were having a bit of a problem with the water temperature in the plumbing during my stay, but they were very apologetic about it. I made two reservations, unfortuantely the second one was not in their computer system and their hotel was full...but they quickly found me a room at a nearby hotel and had me shuttled over there, and assured me they'd take care of everything. They made what could have been a stressful situation very non-stressful. All in all this is a great choice for an airport hotel.

quiet close to the airport

The front desk changed our room without question when we found ourselves located next to the elevator. The breakfast was standard with make your own waffles, muffins, hard boiled eggs, cereals, etc. The shower was excellent. It is right next to the entrance of th airport, but we heard no noise at all. When we decided to leave for the airport earlier than we had originally indicated, they were happy to accommodate us.

Park and Fly

This hotel was great for flying out of Buffalo International Airport. The free shuttle to the airport was very convenient and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The extra you spend for the park and fly is about the same as it costs you to take your car to the airport parking area. The convenience was worth it for us, not having to deal with driving to the airport.

Although room had dated furnishings, it was clean and everything worked properly. Room was quiet and restful. Upgraded continental breakfast very good with bonuses of hard-boiled eggs and make-your-own waffles. Would stay here again.

Good Location and Value for the Money

X and I stayed at this motel for 6 nights in the last week of July, 2007. The purpose of this trip was to visit the various Frank Lloyd Wright sites in the Buffalo area, take an excursion to the greater Niagara area, and take several day trips to see the lighthouses on the US shore of Lake Ontario and the Canadian shore of Lake Erie. I booked the motel through Travel website at a significant discount from the price available on the Best Western web site. I chose this motel for price and location. Though located adjacent to the Buffalo airport, the motel is very well situated to connect with I-90 and roadways into Buffalo proper. This was very convenient for our travels both into Buffalo and for our day trips. Though one might expect the opposite, noise from the airport was very rare. The motel is 4 stories tall - probably 70-75 rooms. Guest amenities include a free shuttle to and from the airport, free local calls, a nicely equipped exercise room for guests, free high speed internet connection (both wi-fi and use of a computer for guests are available), complimentary USA Today, and free breakfast. The overall appearance of the hotel suggested it was a fairly recent build. Breakfast is served from 4:30A to 9:30A each day in a breakfast room that is situated across from the front desk. The breakfast fare consists of bagels, muffins, hard rolls, instant oatmeal, assorted whole fruits, assorted cereals, assorted pastries, hard boiled eggs, assorted beverages and juices, toaster bread, toaster french toast, and a very clever waffle machine that makes you fresh waffles in about 3 minutes. Condiments, utensils, cups, bowls, plates, and napkins are also amply supplied. In addition to being open for the breakfast service, the space is available to guests all day to use the microwave, get eating/serving items, or to have some juice. One drawback that I noted was that the room can only seat 24 guests at a time - and then very tightly. When the hotel is fully booked, the breakfast room can prove to be a very crowded space during the peak breakfast hours of 7:30A to 9:00A. Though the hotel staff do a very good job at keeping the food stocks continually refreshed, I noted that families with children (you know who you are) often seemed to strip the food offerings clean with locust-like efficiency. Other guests should plan accordingly. The guest rooms are standard sized and furnished for this class of hotel (the BW web site rates the motel at 2.5 stars). Closet and drawer space is adequate. A small table and chair is positioned next to the half chest of drawers immediately in front of the bed(s). Depending on your room selection, a small sleeper sofa may also be present. The TV and channel/game offerings are standard motel/hotel fare. The vanity area is located immediately inside the room door, and across from a separate small room that houses the toilet and a combo tub/shower. The vanity features a single basin. A hairdryer, coffee/tea maker (with supplies), and an iron/board round out the room equipment. Housekeeping service is daily, and I have no complaints about room cleanliness. The front desk staff were always very pleasant and helpful. Offsite dining in the immediate walking vicinity is limited to a Denny's immediately in front of the motel, a bistro in the Holiday Inn immediately next to the motel, and the Olympic Restaurant (featuring diner and greek food) immediately across the street from the motel. Guests are given a 10% discount at the Olympic when they show their room key. Unless pizza is being ordered in, all other dining options will involve driving. Overall - very good value for the price that we paid, and still a good value at the price on the BW web site. This is a clean and well run motel that I can recommend.
