We had a very pleasant stay in Quebec City primarily because of our stay at this hotel. We were treated very cordially and attentively. The front desk staff was outstanding and appeared to handle everything thrown their way in a professional manner. The proximity to every thing in Old Quebec allowed us to park our car when we arrived and not drive again until we left for home. The two restaurants in the hotel provided a wide variety of options. Be certain to check into the free buses that run every 15 minutes.

Wonderful Hotel...Great Location

Recommend this hotel for several reasons...location, amenities, the staff, and la ville Quebec! The hotel is very nicely appointed for your needs- including a well-stocked mini bar, adequate towels, and extremely comfotrable bedding!. The hotel is immaculate, the room was very clean, and the bathroom sparkled. Not a hair anywhere! We were met at the entry by the doorman, and our eyes were opened by 4-star treatment from that moment! The concierge was very helpful in getting us around the city - we took the bus to the Parc Aquarium. I recommend you drive! Nevertheless, the hotel was very nice- even when we lost power one night. Flash lights were handed out and power was promptly restored. Breakfast in La Table restaurant is very good..dinner was not so good at the Ste.James bistro restaurant. Avoid the St. James. We used the fitness center every night, it was more than adequate. The pool and lockers are top notch too! Clean, well maintained and typical of the quality to be expected at this little jewel in Quebec. Planning to visit again in the summer..it was brrr-cold in Apr. But I enjoyed the warm hotel lobby, room and restaurants.

How many times will you visit Old Quebec? It is a LOVELY city, very charming, and magnifique for Christmas. I vaccilated back and forth between the Chateau Frontenac and other 4 star hotels. I ended up booking Hotel Manoir Victoria when the savings topped $** for the 4 night stay. Looking back, I wish I would have just splurged for the beautiful castle on the hill. Most of my time was spent there anyway, walking around, eating taffy on snow, tobogganing and dining. The Victoria is a newly renovated hotel with a superb location. The rooms and the hotel are clean and acceptable, they are just nothing great. The beds are what I imagine prison beds to be...hard and starched crispy. The good aspects were the size of the room was decent and the water pressure and temp was good. The room had individual temp control so that was good. However, there are no views to speak of, the shape is so unusual that the TV armoire literally, was 20 feet or more away from the bed so you cannot watch TV from the bed. The employees are kind, but very uneducated about the city, things to do, directions, activities, services and just about anything. They seemed clueless and I went online to find most things out. The food in the restaurants there are slow and bland. It was hard to find good food anywhere in Quebec though. The elevators run at a snails pace, and the spa was booked up the entire time. There is no food available after 11 pm (not even room service), so make sure you bring food back and eat. I would give the hotel 3 stars at best. Again, the location is wonderful. The hotel isn't terrible...but the Frontenac is better!

The hotel is in the historic district of Quebec City and is very charming. We were treated to an upgrade of our room which was a nice surprise. The room had two queen size beds and was spacious. The staff was very polite and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel with one exception. You must climb a full flight of stairs before you reach the front lobby. This might be a problem for some.
