You get what you pay for, I guess

This hotel was disappointing. I understood that it would be modest, but I was not prepared for a room that was dirty and in disrepair: the ceiling was crumbling, rusty, and falling in; the toilet was not fastened to the floor; the sofa was so visibly filthy that I did not even put my suitcase on it; the carpet was old, stained, and visibly dirty; and the smoke and close air was not successfully masked by the spray they used. I asked to be moved, and was moved to a room that was marginally better, but still with filthy carpet and sofa. The first morning, I was awakened around 7:30 or 8:00 by the noisy maid cart outside the door, and at 8:30 by the maid knocking. I did not answer as I was in bed.
When I returned to the room late that night, my key did not open the door and I got a replacement from the night clerk. Entering the room, I saw that the room had not been serviced. The phone did not work at all and I called the desk with my own cell phone. The clerk told me to come down again to the office and he would give me clean towels. I should also mention that the waffle and some dry doughnuts were the sum of the breakfast buffet.
Clean does not properly describe the towels as they were stained and dingy. I left as soon as possible the next morning and vowed never to patronize a Day's Inn. I felt trapped because I had prepaid; only later did I remember that I might have called my online travel website and received some satisfaction and perhaps a move to another property.

Room was disgusting! Had fkies, mold in the pictures, a wall of the jacuzzi tub was broken, cable was fuzzy, and it smelled. Clerk did not help me in the least. I will never stay there again.
