Wonderful Family Vacation Destination

We had a wonderful experience at the Don Cesar. It is a beautiful, grand hotel with lovely white sand beaches. Our two sons, 5 and 8, were also very welcome at this family-friendly resort and enjoyed their time here as well. By the same token, it was not over-run by kids, so couples could also enjoy their experience as well. I would highly recommend the hotel and will visit again myself.

Disappointed

Although we were allowed to check-in one hour early, thing went downhill from there. The toilet in our room was stopped up, the door of the room did not close all the way without being pulled closed and housekeeping would leave to door open after cleaning the room. Many of the scheduled activities changed or canceled completely. The Don Cesar advertised fireworks for the fourth of July that they did not give; we watched fireworks given my other hotels. They promised refreshments but only gave us water. Advertised Wi-Fi cost $* per day.

"Great Service, but too smoky!"

We stayed on the 4th floor and our room was "surrounded" by smoking rooms according to the front desk. They had to bring in an ionizer to minimize the smell. Why can't they have separate corridors for smoking rooms? Also, there is no counter space in the bathroom. I must say that the service was fantastic and the food in the restaurants was pricey, but delicious! The hotel itself is beautiful. We would stay again, but only if we were on a different floor, NOT surrounded by smoking rooms.

Quality Location

Historic landmark hotel in stunning location right on the perfect beach. Sunsets amazing and the sea safe. Small rooms but everything else makes up for that. Only downside was the service at the Beachcomber Bar which was extremely slow and disorganised. This was our second stay here and we will return.
