Great Place to Stay for Families in Foreclosure (SAFE?)

Foreclosure by Landlord of Rental Property in Lancaster caused my family to utilize this hotel for approximately six weeks (costly...) until we could once again find a home.
The hotel was exceptionally acommodating of our needs considering our circumstances. Continential breakfasts consisted of several FULL meals for two individuals per room and contained just about everything that a normal household would serve for their own families: steak, eggs, and country potatoes...fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee and/or tea. My favorite daily: Eggs Benedict with Country Potatoes and Earl Grey Tea. The children were not disappointed either with Belgian Waffles with Strawberries and Whipped Cream, International (pancake waffles, sausages, and scrambled eggs) Breakfast: never a day where they didn't have a choice.
The pool was always clean and inviting.
Only one incidence was had there, though: a Hispanic male we had seen many times earlier cleaning the rooms, making repairs on the floor below, knocked on our door at 3:00 A. M. The next morning, Police Officers were in the lobby after a report was made by one other resident requesting entry to 'use the toilet'. I guess in any hotel, it is best that one keeps locks up-to-date...and locked against strangers. Otherwise, The Palmdale Hotel is ....NO BAD for families, especially those displaced by our economy's devestating forclosure crisis.
Don't stay here!

Checking in was good. The front desk staff was friendly. We entered our room and intial review was it's okay. Then we noticed mold growing on the walls, dead bugs in the corners of the room and and the tracking of the sliding glass door. It was like no one ever opened the curtains to clean. Carpet was disgustingly dirty. I kept my flip flops on at all times. My aunt and uncle were down the hall from us and asked for a different room because, theirs had a strange smell to it. The next room was just as bad, One positive note was the pool. It was very nice. The hot tub on the other hand was dirty, with beer cans and trash floating in and around it from a wedding reception the previous night. That remained there all week. When I booked the hotel it said that there was a continental breakfast. That was not to be found. They said they didn't serve it anymore. We ahd spoke with an area police officer and he said it wasn't the safest part of town to stay in.

The room was absolutely filthy! There was mold growing on the walls. Cobwebs in the corners and dead bugs in the sliding glass door tracks. The air conditioning didn't work very well and when we reserved this hotel it said there was a continental breakfast. No such thing. The only good about this hotel was the pool. The hot tub was disgusting. The first night we were there there was a wedding reception and there was cans and bottles left by and in the hot tub. They were left there all week long with garbage floating in the hot tub all week. My aunt asked to change rooms 3 different times because they were so dirty . Each one was just as bad. Never again will we stay here and would reccomend you don't either!!
Not new, but not bad either

The rooms were nice, clean and well kept. The building was older, but in decent condition. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to ensure our needs were met. Given the lack of decent options in the Palmdale area, I would recommend this hotel for those who need to stay in the area.
Would not stay here again

Check in staff was helpful. Room was large. Room was dirty and the AC did not work. We changed rooms and second room was the same, but AC did work. The general condition of thiis facility is poor. Maintenance is not being done to keep the facility in good shape. Everywhere shows wear, stains, etc.
If this room had not been prepaid, we would not have stayed after looking at the rooms. The hassle to get our money back from a prepaid room to online travel website was the only reson we stayed.
online travel website rated this a 3 star motel. IIt certainly was not! I will be reticent to book another room through online travel website based on their ratings.
