The hotel staff were very pleasant when checking in, however, I am an HH Diamond member. The hotel is undergoing a significant renovation so I have taken that into account. If you are a NON SMOKER, do not even think about eating in the restaurant. Smoking is permitted amnd the air was disgusting.
This was also the venue for the Manager's evening reception - maybe a ploy to get you out quickly.
The breakfast was not up to the usual Embassy standards, but that was because of the renovations, although the rates are not discounted because of this.
The newly renovated bedroom was very clean and tidy - until I pulled out a clean bath towel and found a huge black/green mold growth on it.
I would not stay here again, purely because of the smoking in the hotel.

The size and room separation are great for familes. Having breakfast right there without having to load up the family is very convenient and the food was good. Staff was helpful and friendly. Easy access to get downtown for the Tigers game. Will stay there again if/when I return to Detroit for a UM or Tigers game.

This Hotel was better than I thought it would be the suite was roomy and comortable. For a weekend getaway I enjoyed my experience with this hotel!!

The staff was very friendly but the rooms were dirty. Clean on the surface, but there were stains on all of the fabric furniture, gunk on the baseboards in the bathroon and the toilet seat was dirty upon arrival. This hotel needs updating, or at least a good steam cleaning of the furniture.
A disappointment

The hotel showed its non-cleanliness beginning at the front door, the glass was smeared, the floor was dirty need swept, the public restrooms were disgusting, the room was facing a very busy intersection and lots of noise, even with ear plugs!! Would not recommend this hotel.
