Description: This Hampton Inn is located close to Logan airport, however we were not flying, we simply used this hotel as our base to visit several places in New England.
Although it is not close to the centre of Boston, the city is easily accessible thanks to the shuttle bus service the hotel providers free of charge. It leaves the hotel every 20 minutes and drops people off at the airport or the local T stop (Wood Island) where you can catch the subway straight into the city. Whenever you want to return to the hotel you simply phone them and ask to be collected. We did this and waited approximately 10 mins - very good service. Parking is free at the hotel and they also offer a park & fly option so you can leave your vehicle there for the duration of your holiday.
The hotel location is not the best area as it is very industrial so there are not really any amenities close by, certainly none within walking distance i.e restaurants, shops etc. This did not matter to us as we made sure we ate before returning to the hotel.
We had a king room which was very spacious and clean. We had a king bed, sofa, coffee table, desk, drawers, flat screen TV and bedside cabinets. There is a small wardrobe and a more than adequate bathroom with tub, shower vanity and toilet - all very clean. Internet is complimentary to all rooms and they also have a business centre you can use free of charge.
Although the hotel does not have a restaurant it does have a bar which opens in the evenings as well as a fitness centre and large pool. A complimentary hot breakfast is provided every morning between 6 and 10 am. We were there for four nights and had different options each morning. There is fruit, cereals, bagels, waffles as well as a choice hot options such as scrambled egg, meat patties, sausage etc. Every evening cookies are available and tea and coffee is available 24/7 in the lobby.
Overall I have nothing but good to say about this hotel. It is definitely worth considering if you want to visit Boston without the high prices of city hotels and without the high parking prices. It makes for a very carefree and easy hotel option.
