This was okay. I felt like for the price it could have been a little nicer. It was pretty clean. The towels were not fluffy at all. Help at front desk was very nice. If I was just staying for the night and leaving early the next morning, probably would stay again. If I had to spend any time in my room though, I would pick somewhere else.

I love this place. I stay here every time I go to KC (approx 6 times/yr). The staff are the best - they remember me and greet me by name every time. It's clean, responsive, has breakfast and is centrally located to just about everything. Great place...great people... great location...great value...I will not stay anywhere else.
Not the Greatest Hotel

We arrived to the room about 9:15pm. We had asked for a non-smoking room and that was verified upon check in. When we got to the room, though, it smelled like smoke and there was an ashtray on the desk. I called the desk and they again said it was nonsmoking. I told her about they ashtray and she said, "Huh, maybe they changed it." They had a full house that night, so we couldn't move to another room. She said if we wanted to leave for 30 minutes, they would run an ozonator in the room. Had it been earlier, we would probably have taken her up on it, but after being in the car all afternoon, we were ready to settle in. There was no offer of a discount.
I took a shower and the shower was not very clean, either. As the steam filled the bathroom, the smell of smoke definitely took over and the towels smelled that way, too.

Unfortunately, our room had not been cleaned the greatest. When we first got there we were in a hurry to change and go to Worlds of Fun. I noticed an empty soap wrapper on the counter. After returning late that evening, we noticed that there was something splattered on the back wall of the room. We are still hoping it was ketchup. There were also bottle lids in the bathtub. We did share our experience with the manager in the morning and she gave us a certificate for a stay at any La Quinta. There is nothing worse then a dirty room.
