I ran across this LaQuinta by a billboard on I35 stating $65 a night. I haven't stayed at a LaQuinta in some time so I thought I would try this one out. I needed a room with two beds for my guest and I as we had been traveling all day on our business trip from Lubbock,Tx. (LONG TRIP) I asked the female clerk for a room with two beds. She "shook" her head no meaning no rooms I guess. I then asked for a single with maybe a roll away or a hide a bed. She then responded with words this time that those rooms are "suites" and are priced at $109. That being out of my budget, I declined. I then asked how about a single and I guess one my guest and I will flip a coin for the bed. The clerk responded that she had these rooms also but they were $89. I then told her how I had found the motel by the billboard stating $65. She replied "Yes, those are our double bed room rates." which we don't have. So I asked "so you have rooms available with less beds for more money?" The clerk replied yes and I stated that this will be the last time I ever stay at a LaQuinta ever again being that this in not the first time I have experienced this before. I felt that the clerk was not in anyway trying to help me with a room at a reasonable rate. All of this was on a NON-holiday MON at 8pm.
