Great value for the wine country

I stayed at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa and had the best time ever in the Sonoma Valley. The staff was courtesy, professional and friendly. The concierge did a great job ofmaaping out a wine tasting for me and my husband based on our favorite types of wine. He gave us a map that was easy to navigate and highlighted all the points at which our stops were. He recommended great spots for lunch as well. My husband played golf at their private coruse the Sonoma Golf Club while I had a spa treatment and enjoyed thier bathing ritual in the geothermal pools...the eucalyptus steam was the best part. I can't wait to go back to the Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa!!!

From the moment we encountered the staff at the Front Desk to bell staff upon departure, the experience was truly outstanding. Staff were pleasant, always smiling, greeting us at every opportunity, and attentive to any need whatsoever. Our room was extremely liveable, with a very comfortable mattress, big screen on top of the fireplace, and sofa in front. We only ate a couple of meals at the Inn, but staff were prompt in their service, food cooked the way we desired, and would give an overall positive rating. We did not use the spa. There is a daily "free" wine tasting in the lobby; which, if you haven't had enough already, is a good adventure in that they get different representatives from the area wineries to host. My wife and I would give an overall A+ grade to the facility, would definitely stay again, and will recommend it to our friends who may be traveling to the wine country.

Great Christmas getaway

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Fairmont and used the location to do lots of wine tasting and scenic drives. We booked a traditional room on online travel website at under $*** that came with a complimentary upgrade. The upgrade was key - we got bumped up to a clean, spacious, wine country room with an easy chair, a desk and a small balcony. The bathroom was large, there was a mini fridge with drinks and snacks for extra money. We joined the complimentary presidents club so we got free wifi and had free entrance to the bathing ritual and spa as well as the outdoor (heated) mineral pools and jacuzzi. The gym was nice as well and we took advantage of the daily wine tastings in the lobby. We did have a peek at the traditional rooms while one was being cleaned and they are very small and cramped. Maybe that's why there were often lots of people lounging in the comfortable, rustic but elegant lobby and hotel bar. We ate twice at the Big 3 because there wasn't anything else open on Christmas. It was perfectly fine but there are lots of more interesting restaurants near Sonoma Plaza, which is about a 7 minute drive. Definitely get coffee across the street at the Barking Dog. Only complaints: We had another floor above us and twice there was a lot of noise from cleaning or moving furniture. Several times housekeeping banged on our door at 8am but the cleaning service was always excellent. Prices could certainly add up if you use valet or eat the room snacks or dine at the expensive Sante restaurant. But we found the trip very affordable as we simply paid for the room while taking advantage of the freebies.

So relaxing!

I stayed at the Fairmont Sonoma for two nights in October and loved it! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, helping out whenever I had a question. I ate at the hotel's restaurant one night, called Sante, and the food was delicious. The cheese cart won't disappoint you! I also went to the spa for two treatments and have never felt more relaxed. The outdoor pools are great and the gym was nice with plenty of cardio equipment along with weights. My favorite parts of my stay were the complimentary morning hikes and the complimentary wine tasting right in the hotel. Overall, this is a fantastic place for a getaway and I highly recommend it!

My mom and I just got back from the most memorable Thanksgiving Wknd ever ! We spent this past holiday wknd at this spectacular resort and could not be happier with our choice. We had our thanksgiving dinner in Sante, the hotel's fine dining restaurant and it was exquisite !! We also had brunch there the next day and again, service and food were AMAZING! While we were here, we also had some spa treatments which were to die for ! I had the Chardonnay scrub and my mom had the vanilla float ~ so relaxing ! Although location wasnt the best when we first drove in, once you enter the gates, you enter a true oasis ! The staff were so professional and we found the property grounds to be in phenomenal shape. Concierge staff and valet were awesome ! Def will be back again !!
