Nice grounds, facilities; small, old room

The grounds are beautiful. The pool, spa and lobby are all great. The rooms are small and the main building is quite old, so the room is quite stuffy. The Villagio in Yountville is much better.

Housekeeping was excellent; however, the walls were thin between the rooms, we could hear our neighbor whistling and our shower leaked when our neighbor was taking a shower. I definitely recommend going during the week as it is not so crowded (toward the end of our stay we could tell there was going to be a conference during the weekend as the hotel was more busy and parking became a little hectic). There is free parking for those that don?t feel the need to valet. Location was great as we were less than ten minutes from the first vineyards heading north. Oh, and stay away from the business center unless you want to spend a minimum of twenty dollars for five minutes of computer use - they don't have a free business center, I don't know about the quality of in-room internet as we didn't use.

One night and two days up at Sonoma Mission Inn felt like I was away for one week. How can that be? A reunion with five wonderful High School friends celebrating a 50th birthday was a highlight and then the beautiful, landscaped surroundings, the fantastic, relaxing mineral water pools to lounge and reminisce, refreshing pomegranate mojitos, a lovely decorated suite, the delicious 9-course dinner at Sante' Restaurant (the Inn's restaurant) great water yoga class, healthy and scrumptious snacks, wine tasting with decadent truffles, super, hospitable & friendly service, a poolside private cabana with our own jacuzzi -- wow, it does not get better than this! I came back a new person with a fresh outlook on life. Bring it on! Thank you Sonoma Mission Inn!!!!

I recently stayed with 5 girlfriends for a friend's Birthday. Here are thier exact quotes: It was such a perfect weekend I could cry. It was such a sensory weekend. The tastes, the smells, the waters, and the sunshine, total euphoria. I still have the smell of apricot lotion in my nose. Talk about spectacular and memorable! I will cherish the memories always... Just when you thought things couldn't get any better, they would. The hotel's services are over the top! This is the best hospitality I've ever experienced. The decadence of our whole stay was just out of this world! Each part of our experience was awesome - from our private cabana to our beautiful rooms, to the 9 course, 3-hr. extrordinary dinner in Sante, to the bathing ritual, to decadent fruit drinks & yummy baked vegies and sweet grapefruits, water yoga, to water and more water, to meyer lemon pancakes at the Big 3 Diner

Perfect Weekend Retreat

I went up to the Sonoma Mission Inn a couple weekends ago with my boyfriend and we had a delightful time. We stayed just one night but we had a really quaint room in the older building and I felt like I was at an Bed and Breakfast. The bottle of wine in the room was an excellent touch. We came to enjoy the spa pools so we didn't try out Sante restaurant but I did take a glance at the menu and I won't miss it next time. The spa was great - we didn't try any treatments but just relaxing at the pools and doing the bathing ritual was enough for me. My skin has never felt softer after soaking in the mineral water. I really liked that it is a co-ed bathhouse - I hate going on vacation with my boyfriend and spending the relaxing time apart. The service was excellent and really had a personal touch - again very b&b like. I was often called by my name by many of the staff members and always greated with a smile. All in all it was a perfect mini-retreat. I will definitely be back and I would definitely suggest this resort to my friends. Next time I come I definitely want to stay longer and maybe book a suite they sound just wonderful and very romantic.
