Not Up to Holiday Inn Express Standards

Do not expect this hotel to be like other Holiday Inn Express hotels you have stayed in. It is an old hotel they tried to upgrade. Rooms face outside and to get to the second story you must climb the outside stairs. The bathroom was in poor shape. The toliet rocked and the TP dispenser was coming out of the wall. The paint on the bathroom ceiling was flaking. The wallpaper was coming apart at the seams and the repair was to use a stapler to staple the two sheets of wallpaper together. The bed was as hard as a rock. The room key wouldn't work each day as we returned to the hotel. We had to go to the office to get it to work. The breakfast bar was pretty standard, but there was no microwave in which to heat up the pastries. The orange juice was watered down. The bananas were over-ripe. The good things about the hotel was that the towels were nice and there was a jetted tub in the bathroom. All of these shortcomings might be overlooked if the price was reasonable, but the price for this room was expensive for what you received. I don't know what the other hotels in the area were like, but they had to be better than this one. I would not stay here again.
