Enjoyed our stay

Everything in the hotel was clean and neat. The staff was adequately friendly but didn't overdo it.
The beds were awesome!! The a/c in the room was a little iffy, it worked but the noise made you wonder how long, but a ceiling fan in the bedroom made the room pleasant. The breakfast is much more than a bagel and cereal and was a nice plus. The Isle of Palms location seemed like it was just a few minutes away from wherever we were going in Charleston. Pack a travel size laundry detergent and you are set with the free washer/dryers (2 each). There was a shortage of baggage carts but I guess we were there at a busy check-in time. Definitely get the 2 queen suite. The extra tv and the separate bedroom made having kids on the trip manageable. We stayed 2 nights and would love to have the queen bed we slept on at the hotel in our home. They are super comfy. The rooms do not offer a safe in the room so you have to leave your valuables in one of the few counter safes which I didn't care for. A safe in the room would be a big plus. There is also a side door that is supposed to be locked at all times with a faulty lock that allows anyone access to the hotel.

I paid $* for a room that had a pungent, musty odor coming out of the air conditioning unit. We were relocated to the only other available room and it too had the same problem and the odor was barely tolerable. Also, Sunday morning breakfast closes at 10 so don't sleep late and don't expect to even get a glass of juice at 10:01 because they shut off the juice machine and wouldn't turn it back on despite politely being asked at 10:02. Very disappointing service and stay for the price. This was a $*/night hotel at best that was charging $*/night.

Very friendly/competent staff. Do not book regular room that states oversized vanity area. We started in this room and it was so small you had to go outside to change your mind! Upgrade to suite for just $18.00 . Suite was roomy with all amenities including 2 TVs microwave, fridge and cooktop. AM breakfast was good with more than enough and kept replenished by staff. Coffee available all day. Internet service was spotty. This was only drawback and we will definitley return on our next visit to Charleston

This Hampton Inn is one of the better ones we have stayed in, and that is a big compliment. The suite was very nice, clean and bedding was comfortable. Decor of the hotel was very attractive. Only down side was the breakfast -- not the greatest, and no sausage/bacon -- could use some improvement there. Otherwise a great place to be!
