Staying at Hotel Artim was a pleasant surprise that completed our holiday in Berlin.

The staff was cordial and helpful at all times. It was a somewhat slow crawl to our room on the 5th floor (the top floor, which explains the sloping ceilings on our room), but the elevator was spacious, mirrored and well-lit so semi-claustrophobics need not worry. We booked a standard double room and the room we got was spacious enough to comfortably fit a queen-size bed, 2 extra couches, a big closet, a big desk table (on which a small TV is perched) with 2 chairs, a smaller table and the crib which was set up for our 1-year old daughter. The décor was simple and coordinated in shades of whites, creams and browns.

Our bathroom didn’t have a bathtub (a small disappointment) but it was very clean, spacious, with lots of racks, a big mirror (hurrah!), sizeable sink space (for all my mysterious toiletries) and hair dryer.

The breakfast buffet, already included in the rate, was superb. Breads, eggs, sausages and cold cuts, cereals, yogurts, and the usual juices and drinks were available to charge us up for some grueling touristy trekking. And the staff were still attentive, immediately providing a high chair for my daughter and separate utensils as well. After breakfast, this space turns into an Asian diner. We’ve dined there twice; the food is well prepared and reasonably priced.

Overall, we had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Hotel Artim. It’s a well-serviced hotel situated in a safe and quiet street, but still conveniently located at the heart of Berlin – all for just 69 euros a day (yes, it’s an internet discount which was a far cry from the hotel’s published rates). I strongly recommend Hotel Artim!
