Peaceful
Traveling 14 hours or so and arriving at midnight or thereabout, then customs, usw is a bit arduous.Usually by 1am, worn out.,off and running.,the gringos in us head for luxury. We have opted to go to Howard Johnsons a few times and always have had an outstanding experience.
It is so great to be able to get into a spotless, very comfortable beautiful modern room and relax in our priveleged environment. The staff consistently are courteous and thoughtful.Included is breakfast ,delicious and convenient too.
The following day, we head for REAL ECUADOR and our standard of living drops significantly.Yet we always manage to find charm everywhere on our frugal budget.and beyond a meaningful adventure ensues amongst the Ecuadoreans (the nicest people on the planet)
Returning to Gringolandia, we stay sometimes at HJ again because it is across the street from the Aldous Huxley mall and although we try to follow reverend Billy's church of no shopping doctrine we tend to slip upon leaving. Espiritus liqueur, a must to take back.
We keep trying different Hotels around the country, just because but HJ ,It is a good one.
