Best Things Nearby:
Scenery, endless scenery. We didn't tour, so we enjoyed the peace, goatbells tinkling, green meadows, farmers harvesting, lots of walking tracks, friendly eating places, closeness to Innsbruck, and transport to other places if needed.
Best Things About the Resort:
Balconies with wonderful views, warm and welcoming place to come back to each day, and the warm swimming pool in the basement
Resort Experience:
Our room faced front, so we had the geranium-filled balcony facing over the alm to the mountains. Rooms are fitted out with fixed furniture like a caravan, and the bed was folded down over the top of the sofa and coffee table from a dark oak wall unit. The coffee table protruded from the bed by 5 inches, and we frequently walked into it. Two pillows and two doonahs were the total bedding supplied, but a radiator kept us comfortable and the bathroom floor is heated. The bathroom felt sparse, as there was nowhere to put soap or shampoo in the shower and nowhere to spread towels or put your clothes. The kitchen was well supplied and there were deck chairs and a drying frame on the balcony.
The hotel lobby was well supplied with information, and the restaurant is comfortable and staffed by friendly people. Wolfgang speaks good English, and all guests at dinner on the last evening were given complimentary glasses of schnapps. You can reach the hotel quite easily by bus from Adamgasse in Innsbruck and save a taxi fare. It cost 2.40 Euros, and you get off at the roundabout at the far end of Axams and walk 50m up the left street. You can't miss the lovely building.
