We, two adult couples, rented this private home for a week. It was a great place, and we really had a good time. I had a lot of questions before we went, and the owners answered them quickly online and were quite helpful. They do not live on the island but have people who look after the home and make sure everything is taken care of.
Private rental is the way we prefer to visit most areas. It can be more challenging at times compared to a hotel and resort, but for us it is the best way to experience local flare and customs. If we wanted to stay in a closed-in resort with mostly Americans, there would be no need to leave the US.
If you want everything done for you and to be pampered, then this would not be for you. If you like a little adventure, much better pricing, and accommodations that are really nice, I highly recommend a stay here.
