New westminster, British Columbia

I was worried when I first booked the hotel. I checked around at a few travel sites to see what I could find on the hotel. There was a lot of negative, but I thought, "Best Western is a big chain, so I won't worry."When we came to our room, I was surprised to see that it was neat and clean. The size was adequate and there were two queen-size beds. We paid $69 per night, a good price. If we had paid any more, I would have been mad. For a budget hotel, we got what we paid for.The area was good, as it was close the Southcenter Mall. The pool was not in service, as it is seasonal. There was a small workout room, and an outside Jacuzzi was working. The continental Breakfast was adequate, basic would be the word. I have pictures of it. This was a budget hotel. It was clean but service was poor. They did not make up our room, and we were there for 2 nights.
Bottom line: There are too many NICE hotels in that area to stay at that Best Western again. For a few more dollars ($20) we could have stayed at the Marriott Courtyard, with an indoor pool and Jacuzzi, in-room Internet, and hot breakfast. They have very nice rooms, as we went and visited some friends who stayed there.
