We had read some pretty bad reviews of the hotel before we got there and were a little worried about what we might find but are happy to report that the hotel exceeded our expectations. Rooms are small but perfectly adequate. Yes, there were some stains on the carpet, but the housekeeping staff came in every day and did a fine job. Public areas are fairly rudimentary, although the breakfast room is nice. There was a fair amount of street noise, but the windows are well soundproofed. Some of the reviews we read claimed that the hotel is in "the red light district" - yes, there are sex clubs nearby in Pigalle but no solicitation in front of the hotel.
It's only 100m from the Moulin Rouge, 100 meters to Blanche Metro, and just down the hill from Rue des Abbesses and great restaurants. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There are no doubt better hotels, but for the price we paid, I think we did quite well.
