I don''t remember exactly what dinner was, but it was your typical cafeteria food - edible but by no means spectacular. I think were was a cooked mixed vegetable medley, beef or pork roast, salad, bread and maybe ice cream bars for dessert? But the memory is foggy (you can see how much impression the food made on me - it wasn''t spectacular but it wasn''t horrible either).
Was the dinner and view worth the money? It''s hard to say. If you can find a place at a cheap hotel, you may be better off - you''ll have your own room closer to town. But I had a good time at the hostel, and if you''re looking to meet other travelers (which was a plus for me since I was on my own) the hostel may be better.
From journal Zermatt - a joy in the summer too
