Upper Pines Camp ground is within walking distance of the Curry Village area. At Curry Village, you can get a hot shower, hot food in a cafeteria, daily newpaper, ice cream, assorted small gifts, various beverages from a small snack stores, rent bikes, and rent fishing gear. Locationwise, Upper pine is next to the river, and allows qucik access to the free bus that runs though the valley, within walking distance to the horse stables, walking distnce to the general market and walking distnce to Happy Isles. Upper Pines is far enough from the main part of the valley, so not to have to deal withn a great deal of traffic, yet close enough to get to the bus line and as well as Curry Village. You are more than a short walk from the hotel and lodge, which can be good or bad. If you want to avoid all the ''day visitors and the day bus trippers'', then upper pine is great!!!

The buses aren''t allowed that far back in the park, and the small lot at Curry Village fills up fast, therefore limits a lot of ''day drivers. In our opinion, the closer you are to the hotel or lodge, the more traffic you see and the louder the noise from the buses, day cars and day visitors. Unlike many of the other camp grounds, Upper Pine is father back in the Valley Loop, so you aren''t awaken by early traffic that would drive by the other camp grounds in the morning.
