The Shire Motel has very pleasant rooms that overlook a stream and green hill area. Our room was quite large and had two queen four-poster beds. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. There are also rooms with fireplaces. The only drawback is that there is no elevator to the second floor. You have to carry you bags up one flight of stairs. You would have to request a room on the ground level floor.
It is right across the street from a grocery store and is just two blocks from the downtown area. There is also a veranda along the front with rocking chairs and coffee is available from 8am until 10am.
