Fantastic Romantic Getaway

Fantastic Romantic Getaway

We had a great romantic getaway at Savannah Beach Inn where the innkeepers, Ann Last and Craig Markowski made this an unforgettable romantic event. My husband, on leave from the Iraq and I were overwhelmed with the great hospitality and the gourmet food.

Not only did Craig cook some great gourmet breakfasts while busily booking reservations and making sure all the guests were happy, He kept us fully entertained with his legends and lore about Savannah and coastal islands along with sharing his extensive career travel adventures in the Alaska frontier and as a yacht captain doing sailing cruises in the Virgin Islands with his company, Pirate Charters Of The Caribbean during the winter time.

With the books that his written like "Key West to Alaska" and "Trading Wall St For St John USVI, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the best seller lists sometime soon.

Not to be outdone by her son, Ann has partnered up with a great wedding planner; Nancy Hillis, famous from the "Midnight Garden of Good and Evil", to create, produce and host nearly a hundred weddings a year for the "Rich and Famous", celebrities, the common folk and maybe even a few who border on the infamous or reclusive!

This is a "Must See’ experience for everyone if not for the Bananas Foster French Toast or the complimentary dolphin cruise, then the homemade cookies every evening like the double chocolate, chocolate chip cookies.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this inn. We were given (and paid for) what we were told was a suite, but as it turns out, part of what they considered our "suite" was common area. It was supposed to have a king-size bed but only had a queen, and it did not say that the room did not have a shower. When I told the innkeeper that she should have mentioned that, she said that I could just roll back the rug in the middle of the bathroom and use the attachment on the claw foot tub. Unacceptable!

We agreed to change rooms and were told that by the time we returned from breakfast, our bags would be in our new room. When we got back, our bags were still in our old room, and we were told we could take them up the three flights of stairs to our new room whenever we were ready. Needless to say, customer service was not a strength. I decided at that point we were checking out. Not only did I not get the room type originally promised or get moved to a new room, but I was charged one night as a cancellation fee. Overall unsatisfactory experience.
