Seacastles Resort Inn and Suites

  • April 28, 2004
  • Rated 4 of 5 by Haruyo from Toronto, Ontario
Best Things Nearby:
Ogunquit Beach is a short walk away. The Marginal Walkway Path starts across the street from the resort. Very close to nearly shops and restaurants.

Best Things About the Resort:
Daily bed-making, refill of toiletries, and newspaper. Excellent location.

Resort Experience:
This resort, a timeshare for approximately 25 years, is open year-round and features 45 units. Our particular suite definitely showed its age and requires refurbishing in both its décor and furniture and minor repairs to windows and vanity/kitchen doors that were slightly askew. But the location is excellent, as it is minutes from the Marginal Walkway, a path along the ocean, and a short distance to both the “downtown” and Ogunquit Beach.

Special touches such as daily newspaper delivery of the Maine Sun Telegraph on Sundays and the Portland Herald on weekdays. The daily bed-making and refill of toiletries and fresh towels more than make up for the lack of a dishwasher, washer, and dryer. Two outdoor BBQs were available along with indoor heated pool/Jacuzzi. Most of the units, if not all, have access to private balconies.

Although there are no planned activities at the resort, there is a lot to do in the area. Visit local specialty stores for clothing and souvenirs as well as handmade crafts and knickknacks. Eat in a variety of dining establishments who specialize in lobster rolls, clam/seafood chowder, and homemade chocolates.

Best Things Nearby:
Right at the entrance to the marginal way and close to downtown.

Best Things About the Resort:
You can rent movies right there and the pool is a great way to unwind after a long day.

Resort Experience:
The unit was a one bedroom loft, which worked well if you have kids (of course, watch the railing). A lot of room in the unit, and the location cannot be duplicated!

SEACASTLES RESORT

SEACASTLES RESORT

Seacastles Resortwas not listed in any of the travel guide books for Maine. We saw an ad in the USA Today newspaper for the 3 Norseman Resorts located in Ogunquit. Seacastles-In the Village; Ogunquit River Plantation-On the Ogunquit River; Norseman Motor Inn-On Ogunquit Beach.

We reserved a Deluxe Unit on the lst floor in the 2 story condo-like building separate from the main building. We were pleasantly surprised to see how spacious it was. These units include a kitchenette(including stove, refrigerator, utensils, and dinnerware). We had a dining table with seating for 4, living room with sleeper sofa and TV, clean bathroom with tub/shower and lots of towels and toiletries. The bedroom had a queen bed, 3 lamps, TV, and a door to close it off from the rest of the unit.It was very comfortable for a 3 nite stay.

INFORMATION:
Reservations recommended - especially during high season(June 28-Sept. 1).
One parking space per rental unit.
Enclosed pool with retractable roof is small.
No pets allowed.
No hairdryers in room. However, they do have some for guests to borrow in rental office.
This location is perfect for walking to Perkins Cove, Ogunquit Beach, shops, restaurants, etc.
Check-In @ 3PM(firm) and Check-Out @ 11AM.

Everything is nearby. This is a great location!

Best Things About the Resort:
Good size. The one bedroom setup is a loft. Nice that is has an indoor/outdoor pool besides the fact that you are across the street from the ocean.

Resort Experience:
Not a lot of units, but great location if you can trade into it. You are right on the main strip, walking distance to everything.

The Hotel Aegean

  • August 7, 2000

The Hotel Aegean

The Hotel Aegean was a find! This 20-some room hotel is built into the side of a cliff overlooking the Aegean sea for spectacular views. It offers a swimming pool with cocktail bar, Double and Single rooms with TV, telephones, and private bath. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. All rooms have a terrace or patio. They are decorated in a wonderful bright white and blue. There are only a few rooms with a queen size bed. Most are two doubles placed side by side. Be sure to ask. The staff go out of there way to give you personal attention. Each morning starts you off with a breakfast buffet of cereals, cheeses, meats, muffins, fruit and yogurt. The hotel is in walking distance to the town of Mykonos, which is the port. Ask for one of the rooms on the top floor, as they offer the best views and privacy. The friendly owner, Dimitris, wants you to have a great stay.
