The Grand View Lodge is a grand old place that is designated as a national historic landmark, preserving a legacy that dates back to the days of World War I. It holds a lot of charm inside of it's log walls, and a beautiful long walkway down to the beach of Gull Lake. You can stay in the lodge or a villa, a cabin or a townhouse within the 550 acres of land the Lodge and it's golf courses covers. We stayed in the Clubhouse Suites at the 18th hole of The Pines golf course. Our kids slept in the bedroom that had 2 queen beds, and we slept in the living area on a Murphy bed. We had a microwave, refrigerator, sink and cabinets stocked with plates, salt and pepper, etc.
The Lodge offers activities for the kids, or for the whole family such as a free pontoon boat ride, or horseback riding (for an extra fee). There's a spa, two restaurants and a nice little coffee shop with gifts, too. Down by the beach is the pool. It is inside, but in the summer they open up two sides of the building to let in the summer weather. There's a children's pool, a waterslide that was only open 40 minutes per hour, and a hot tub.
We liked our suite, the customer service and the lodge. It was fun to have a bonfire along the golf course pond, with a box of dry wood and matches provided by the resort. The girls played at the beach for a long time looking for shells and rocks, and they enjoyed swimming in the pool too.
