The Lodge offers activities for the kids, or for the whole family such as a free pontoon boat ride, or horseback riding (for an extra fee). There's a spa, two restaurants and a nice little coffee shop with gifts, too. Down by the beach is the pool. It is inside, but in the summer they open up two sides of the building to let in the summer weather. There's a children's pool, a waterslide that was only open 40 minutes per hour, and a hot tub.
We liked our suite, the customer service and the lodge. It was fun to have a bonfire along the golf course pond, with a box of dry wood and matches provided by the resort. The girls played at the beach for a long time looking for shells and rocks, and they enjoyed swimming in the pool too. You can check their website at www.grandviewlodge.com for specials on golf getaways or family vacations.
