Resort Experience:
We were at the highest inhabitable point between the Alps and Rockies. This resort is located at about 7,000 feet and is very removed from all the touristy feel. You are in the thick of the mountains, with views that go on forever, and a quiet, peaceful feeling settles in as soon as you step out of the car. Our condo was perfect for a family of four - big king-sized bed and pull-out for the kids, with a nice kitchen and huge deck. The pool was little, but it didn't matter. The kids loved it, and we loved the hot tub right out on the deck under the stars.
They had good movies to rent on site, and a little grocery so you didn't have to run to town if you forgot something. The people were very nice and helpful when we had questions.
This is a great place to return to after a day of driving around doing all the fun things South Dakota has to offer. Honestly, the only thing we heard was an occasional car going up our driveway and the sound of the pines swaying in the breeze. Wildlife abounds here, and the mist over the mountains in the morning is breathtaking. Plenty of room in our place for a family of four, and great service. We'd go back again.
