Waterfalls, forests, natural landscapes, good food, wild animals

Best Things About the Resort:
All of the above, plus its proximity to major sights. It's family friendly, inexpensive, and a very enjoyable getaway.

Resort Experience:
The main road from Knin to Zagreb passes through the heart of the Plitvice National Park. This UNESCO site is a true treasure. More developed than other national parks in Croatia (with good reason), it has always been a well-sought-after summer destination for rich and poor alike. To escape the maddening heat and crowds of the coast, many Croatians and foreigners alike prefer the rolling, forest-covered hills of the area. Very accessible from all areas, one cannot claim to have visited Croatia without paying a visit here first!
