You stay in a century-old ranch house that has been recently restored. It is filled with antiques and other items which give you a sense of the island''s history and culture. The ranch house has six large bedrooms with very comfortable beds.

All meals are provided for you. They are elaborate and plentiful. All food is farm fresh and prepared to perfection. The specialty is buffalo meat and dairy products made from buffalo milk. I personally have never had better meat, with the possible exception of the Argentine pampas.

The hosts (the owners of the ranch) are incredibly gracious and professional. Their English, however, is not great. If nobody speaks Portuguese, the ranch can provide you with a translator for around $50 extra per day.
