An excellent four star hotel out in the middle of nowhere, the Hortobagy Club Hotel is popular with business travellers looking for a conference facility where they can get away from it all. The high end luxury hotel seems somewhat at odds with the flat plains of the puszta, but why shouldn't folks be able to follow up a dusty afternoon of cattle herding with a spa treatment?Originally designed as a hotel that would draw horse riding families the Hortobagy Club Hotel has a number of cottages that suround the large main building, each with its own riding stable. You can bring along your own horse or rent one for the duration of your stay.
Since there aren't so many horse fans willing to Hortobagy, however, a shift has been made towards serving the needs of business conferences. The rooms are quite nice and spacious, and the common areas certainly reflect a luxurious quality that I haven't seen elsewhere in Hungary outside of Budapest.
The indoor swimming pool is fabulous, quite large and well designed. An adjacent jacuzzi would be great for soaking your sore muscles at the end of the day. There is also a fitness area, sauna, solarium and massage rooms with which to completely pamper yourself.
Two restaurants and three bars make sure that the folks have somewhere to go when night falls, as you are out in the middle of the countryside. Business facilities are available, and the staff seems determined to provide its guests with courteous and quick assistance in any matters.
