The Kaiping Dai Xia Hotel is a two-star hotel and is one of the cheapest in the area. For about $20 a night, you can rent a two-room, four-bedroom suite that includes a living room area. The rooms each come with a television set that shows only local channels and a few Hong Kong station programs. The rooms are tidy since the cleaning staff comes in every day, but the beds, desks, towels, bedsheets, pillows, and bathrooms all seem worn and used -- buying and using your own towels and other toiletries is recommended.
The most famous feature of this hotel is the topmost floor, which is a revolving restaurant shaped like a disc. You can enjoy morning dim sum or lunch there while viewing the scenery. You get to see a pretty good expanse of the area from the view at the top. The dim sum there is also actually pretty good, especially their choices of congee, dumplings, and meat buns.
Amenities include a disco, coffee shop, restaurant, Internet bar, karaoke, and a massage place, though some of these seem to be frequented mostly by men.
